Senior Lecturer in Counselling Psychology/Clinical Psychologist
About
Dr Jay Watts is a Clinical Psychologist, Psychotherapist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. She spends two days a week working as a Senior Lecturer at City University where she teaches on the Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology. She has well-established private practice clinics in the City of London and London Bridge. She continue to contribute to the NHS and other organizations through consultation, training and supervising staff. She also spend a day each week writing fiction, and carries out reseach personally and through supervising DPsychol trainees.
Jay's current research focuses on:
- Branding of psychotherapies (especially in the NHS)
- Convergences and differences between Lacanian psychoanalytic and systemic theories of psychosis
- Familes and 'psychosis'
- Discursive psychology
She is happy to be contacted by anyone wishing to collaborate on research projects in the aforementioned areas, or within the broad areas of critical clinical psychology or lacanian psychoanalysis.
